School for Poetic Computation was honored to host our first graduation last month at Roulette in Downtown Brooklyn. Together we celebrated 50 graduates for their ongoing study of poetic computation and the many ways they've shaped our community. It was a beautiful opportunity to reflect on what we’ve learned over the past year and to hear from the teachers, artists, and collaborators in our community who inspire us. We plan to make graduation an annual tradition and hope to present many more of you with custom diplomas in the years to come.

Photos by Cyle Suesz.We don't think of graduation as a closing ceremony that ushers you out of a life of study. As our peers at the Recurse Center say "never graduate." At SFPC, we like to think we are always already graduating, and invite you to graduate as many times as you desire. Learning isn't a finite milestone—it is a commitment we return to, together, over and over again. Graduation is chance to pause, gather, reflect, and celebrate the time and curiosity we've generously brought to our shared study—one we are happy to celebrate with you many times over.
To graduate with us in 2027, you must have:
- taken or taught at least three classes since the last time you graduated by the end of the Spring 2027 season
- In-person intensives throughout SFPC's history count as one class. One or two-day workshops do not count as a class.
All graduates will receive a digital diploma and have their names read during the ceremony.
First-time graduates who are able to attend in person in New York City will receive a special circuit-board diploma designed by our teachers CW&T. Returning graduates who attend in person will receive a unique add-on to their existing diploma.
