Jamais Vu View

Jamais Vu View is a generative art laptop screensaver drawing inspiration from views thru' SFPC window panes. Written in p5js using agent-based modeling techniques, the screensaver comes to life in idle moments simulating abstractions of collaboration, exploration, and communal agency. Each initiating idle moment generates a new society of visual agents that play by and generate new rules of engagement for that individual screensaver session. The term Jamais Vu is often described as the opposite of Déjà Vu. Jamais vu is the phenomenon of experiencing a situation that one recognizes in some manner, but that nonetheless seems novel and unfamiliar. In other words, its an observer’s impression of experiencing something for the first time, despite rationally knowing that they have experienced it before. Jamais Vu View explores the mixing of the known and unknown, the familiar and unfamiliar, and structure and flow in SFPC classes. Jamais Vu View is compatible with Linux, Mac, and Windows.
