Description

Personal and critical reflections on ancestral histories within the context of biometric surveillance and DNA tracing technology, from participants of the Summer 2021 session of AncestryandMe (taught by American Artist with Zainab Aliyu).

AncestryandMe is a class for learning more about our individual families while reading the most current conversations being had around DNA tracing technology. This class used the relationship between African-Americans and biometric technology as a precedent to open up conversations around how commercial DNA tracing plays a role in the lives of all people.
